Aircraft Rental
Whether you're searching for an affordable trainer to start
your aviation training, something more complex to earn a new rating in, or an
SUV with wings to haul friends and family, Phoenix Aviation has something
for every pilot.
We also fill a very unique role in the Maryland/Pennsylvania/Delaware
aviation community, offering training in tailwheel aircraft as well as aerobatic
flight.

Faster aircraft typically cover the same distance in a
shorter time; while the hourly rental rate may be higher, a faster
aircraft may actually save you money depending on the length of your
trip.
To compare your options for the most popular rental
aircraft and find the best price-performance for your intended mission:
-
Select two aircraft and determine the anticipated
cruise speed for each (e.g., a 172 and an Arrow).
-
Create a flight plan using a web-based or
other automated tool (AOPA Flight Planner, DUATS/DUAT, Cirrus, Golden
Eagle, etc.).
-
Run the flight planner using your first
aircraft's anticipated cruise speed. Determine the number of minutes it will
take.
-
Run the flight planner using your second
aircraft's anticipated cruise speed. Determine the number of minutes it will
take.
-
Open this document in either Microsoft Excel or in Adobe Acrobat
. Find your first aircraft in the upper row,
then find the number of planned minutes for that aircraft in the far
left column. The cost will be shown at the intersection of the row and column.
(Note that the cost in includes 5% Maryland sales/use tax which applies
to rentals; sales/use tax does not apply for instructional
flights.)
-
Do the same for your second aircraft.
