Instruction (Getting Your Certification)
Solo Cross-Country
Training
When you're getting set for your very first
solo, the big question is "Will I be able to land?" (Of course you
will or we won't let you take off!) By the time you're ready for
solo cross-country flight, the question will be more like, "Will I be able
to find my way back?" (Again, of course you will!)
Cross-country flight
is what flying is really about: you
have a destination somewhere besides the Martin State traffic pattern or the Phoenix Aviation tie-down area.
That destination might be Brandywine, an area of Pennsylvania rich with history. Or
perhaps the quaint Victorian charm of Cape May, New Jersey.
Regardless of what you and your instructor chart out for
your solo cross-country work, you'll have the reassurance that you already
flew the route with your instructor; you just have to do it again...it's just this time,
you'll be doing it on your own. And once again, you'll have a memory to
last a lifetime after your complete your first solo cross-country flight.
