Welcome to Phoenix Aviation and the Exciting World of Flight!

  • Fly more, pay less: share a flight with another pilot
  • Proud to be Baltimore's Only Cessna Pilot Center
  • Financing is available for flight training...call, visit, or e-mail us for details
  • Phoenix Aviation offers gift certificates, an ideal gift for student pilots
  • You can learn to fly at just about any airport, but if you really want your dreams of flying to takeoff, Phoenix Aviation at Martin State Airport has what it takes to turn your vision into action.

The Right Attitude Learning to fly is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever do for yourself. It's also one of the most demanding. Our staff is dedicated to your success, safety, and continued growth as a pilot.

More Aircraft The challenge of flight shouldn't include waiting days or weeks to get on the schedule. With over a dozen airplanes at very affordable rental rates, you'll spend your time in the air, not behind a calendar or checkbook juggling the rest of your life.

Great Training A staff of both full- and part-time FAA-certified flight instructors provides top-notch training leading to Private Pilot, Instrument, and Commercial ratings. Many of our students are first-time pilots; others are seeking advanced endorsments in complex or high-performance airplanes.

Ideal Location Flying out of Martin State, located just 12 miles north of downtown Baltimore on the edge of Chesapeake Bay, will help you build the confidence to fly just about anywhere. Its tower-controlled Class D airspace is challenging but far from intimidating. And for practice flights, you can't beat the scenery.

Unique Opportunities Interested in aerobatic training, spin training, or learning to fly a taildragger? We have a Citabria 115 and experienced instructors ready to fill your logbook with a record of the most exciting flying you'll ever accomplish.

Networking  Meet other pilots and students informally through airport activities: cookouts, potluck dinners, and weekend coffee and donuts.

Just think...in an hour or so, you could be swimming in Ocean City, hiking the Appalachians, enjoying the old Victorian charm of Cape May, skiing in Pennsylvania or Western Maryland, spinning the Roulette wheel in Atlantic City, or enjoying waterfront dining on the Eastern Shore with family and friends.
